Introducing Darnie from Studio Donegal - This is Knit
Studio Donegal - Darnie Darnie is now available in our shop and online here. Today's Woollinn feature comes from Studio Donegal and, trust me, it's a good un'! When first spoke to Studio Donegal about our plans for Woollinn they shared an exciting secret with us, and today we get to share it with all of you!   Officially launching in Ireland at Woollinn is a brand new 4-ply /fingering weight (100g / 410 m), 100% lambswool yarn from Studio Donegal. It's a beautifully balanced 2ply tweed and absolutely fabulous to knit with. How do we know, you ask? Well, we have already put it to the test!   Ziggy Played with Yarn Cowl by Eimear Early   To coincide with the launch TIK staff member and knitwear designer Eimear Earley designed this gorgeous cowl for the launch.  Ziggy Played with Yarn is a stranded colourwork cowl, featuring a zig-zag pattern which gradually shifts in dominant colour. The cowl is provisionally cast on, knitted in a tube and then grafted together using the Kitchener stitch. The whole project requires just two skeins of Darnie and this gives a generous 136 cm/53.5" cowl.   We will have this sample for you to look at up close and personal on our stand! The pattern, Ziggy Played with Yarn, is included in the Woollinn Show Programme. We'll also be sharing some other beautiful samples in this yarn very shortly, as the finishing touches are currently being put on two gorgeous cardigans and one fabulous shawl. See you all tomorrow for another update!     You can catch up with all the latest news and announcements for the This is Knit, Woollinn stand here.
