There was more knitting fun to be had last weekend as we returned for a second year at the Electric Picnic. After an initial location glitch on Saturday, Sunday was very successful as we attracted a lot of attention in our corner of a “Tree”pee within the Body and Soul area. This was well sheltered so it was definitely useful when the rain came down later in the day. Here we spread out our picnic blankets and young and old, boys and girls joined us for a few stitches, a few rows or a good part of a scarf 🙂
We also met alot of people who already knew how to knit but fancied adding their few rows to our projects and people who were thinking of getting back into knitting and wanted to see if they remembered how.
I didn’t get a chance to take too many photos unfortunately but these ones were quickly snapped by Ronan early Sunday afternoon:
Many thanks to all who volunteered and to those who spared some time out from the festivities to lend a hand: Antje, Carrie, Kate, Marta, Laura & David, Mary & John, Aileen, Charlene, Caroline, Ronan and Fintan (Isobel’s envoy!) Also big thanks go out to Helen K and Helen McC for coming to the rescue with lots of knitting needles just days before the event.
The Irish Times also took our photo on Saturday and that formed part of the Knitting Feature today’s edition (page 17). If you have a subscription to ireland.com then you can view the article here.
We’re already looking forward to next year 🙂
