Branches and Buds Sweater - This is Knit
It's that time of year where you want to start knitting garments again and you may even be planning on something extra-special for the season ahead. We had been thinking the same and we found one of the most beautiful garment patterns over on Ravelry. Introducing the Branches and Buds Sweater by Carrie Bostick Hoge.     Jacqui knitted this beautiful sweater in The Fibre Co.'s Road to China Light and we just can not get enough of it. This garment took 6 skeins of Hermatite and just 1 skein of Grey Pearl for the 36" size.  If you haven't knitted with this beautiful yarn before then you're in for a treat. It is a rather special blend of Baby Alpaca, Silk, Camel and Cashmere - so you get that incredible warmth and softness, alongside a luxurious silky sheen. This yarn has a very subtle halo and every stitch feels like pure decadence. The colour palette has been designed by combining baby alpaca with the soft tones of the camel as a base, before the rest of the palette was put together, and we think if you look at the yarn range you can see this reflected in each of the colourways.     The Branches and Buds sweater is designed by  Carrie Bostick Hoge who is based in Maine and has a rather lovely website here, if you are looking for more of her designs. This is a top-down sweater and is worked in one piece with the option of sewing on the buds once your garment has been completed.     This project dives right in with stranded colour work on those branches and you can also work a jogless technique on the back to keep those branches in line.  Once the colourwork is completed and the sleeves are on holders, it's a relaxing stocking stitch knit to the ribbing which is perfect for some Netflix and Knitting time if you ask us.   You can find the sample in our shop if you would like to have a closer look or feel the beautiful fabric for yourself. All that's left is to choose which of these colourways to cast on with...
