Adelaide by Isabell Kraemer

If you joined Lisa for the iKnit7 festivities over on our Instagram a few weeks back, you will have spotted her wearing Jacqui's recently finished pullover Adelaide by Isabell Kraemer while chatting with Louisa Harding.

Knit using Yarntelier's Cashmere Lace, this top down pullover is so light and airy, it is just perfect for those cool summer evenings (and days here in Ireland!). The delicate lace yoke adds the right amount of elegant detail on the sweater to make your whole outfit pop.

The pattern includes both a short-sleeved and long-sleeved option to choose from, and the lace yoke is charted. Jacqui knit the long-sleeved version of Adelaide in the second size listed. She used just less than three balls of the Yarntelier Cashmere Lace in the colour way Rosehip.

Jacqui found Adelaide to be a very well-written pattern that was easy to follow. Lace weight pullovers may take a bit of time, but you will love the end result of such a delicate and striking sweater that will be sure to garner compliments.

Yarntelier's Cashmere Lace is a British-made lace weight yarn, that when knit, feels weightless and incredibly comfortable to wear next to the skin. Due to the nature of the yarn's bespoke production (which Louisa mentions was especially important to her), the yarn is actually protected by residual spinning oils while you knit, making it resistant to friction and ready to come to life when it is washed and worn.

Unlike other traditional lace knits, when working with Cashmere Lace, you knit at a larger gauge than usual - similar to fingering weight yarn at anywhere between 3.00 - 3.75 mm needles. This allows space for the yarn to bloom when you block your project, giving it the uniquely airy feel and beautifully cloudy appearance to your finished project.

Cashmere Lace is an absolutely beautiful yarn for any project you choose, not just for heirloom or wedding gifts. Treat yourself to a bit of everyday luxury with this yarn and a project like the Adelaide sweater. You can easily knit a sweater from 3 balls of the Cashmere Lace.
