It’s all about a crazy little thing called yarn…

We’re a family-run small business, located in the centre of Dublin City in the beautiful surrounds of the Powerscourt Townhouse.  We’ve been on this magical fibre-filled adventure since we set up our first market stall back in June 2006.

Back then we were a mother-and-daughter team, with high hopes of discovering other natural-fibre-knitting enthusiasts “out there” on the island of Ireland.  Luckily for our little business there were quite a few and we grew from that first market stall, to a small shop in the suburbs, to a teeny city centre premises and finally to our current home.

Along the way we have met so many wonderful customers, teachers, designers and suppliers and we’re proud to call them our friends too.  We also added another family member to the team and became a mother and daughters business. We’ve hosted world-famous knitwear designer workshops, book launches and yarn tastings and thrown quite a few great parties too (if we do say so ourselves)! Most recently we have added Woollinn to our repertoire, as we became the organisers of Ireland’s Festival of Yarn!

Today we are delighted to bring our local customers a select range of top quality brands from around the world and to tempt them with home-grown offerings from local hand dyers, spinners and mills.  We offer our own “in-house” brand of hand dyed yarn too: Townhouse Yarns.

We also thoroughly enjoy helping visitors to Ireland find that perfect souvenir from their trip, from among our broad selection of yarns and accessories.
