Symfonie Rosewood Gift Sets – launch postponed

A couple of weeks ago KnitPro announced the Symfonie Rosewood Gift Set would be available as a limited edition for Christmas. I know a lot of people were already very excited about these and we had also really been looking forward to stocking them.

Unfortunately we received an email today (sent to all KnitPro stockists) to say that there have been quality issues with the presentation boxes. Despite trying two different suppliers KnitPro have concluded:

“Since we do not want to compromise at all with the quality of our products, we have decided to postpone the launch of the Symfonie Rose sets until we are able to offer our product which has cleared all quality parameters.”

Sorry to break the bad news folks… :(

However, the launch of the Spectra Acrylic Gift Sets will go ahead as planned. These are still a really cute product – each of the sizes are a different colour – and they are also more affordable than the symfonie wood options.

We expect these to be in stock by the end of November / start of December at the latest.

Settling In…

Well, we are just coming up on a week in our new (two-part) home at the Powerscourt Centre. Every single day last week I said to myself to take pictures and to share them here but the madness of unpacking and getting organised continued … so better late than never I suppose!

We are loving the new set up and it’s great to have everyone working out of the same space – I’ll take a few more pictures after some of the final touches are made on the fit out of the new unit but here’s just a little something to whet the appetite!

The New Set Up

We’ve had our first two classes in the new space and, although we have to keep the numbers down a little bit, it’s working out well. It’s safe to say we have a lot of yarn but even more pattern books, so snap up our great offer of 30% off almost all* pattern books, while stocks last.

DB Spring Summer 09 Magazine

We have had a lot of people asking when the new Debbie Bliss magazine will be available. We’re expecting it within the next 10-14 days.

If you would like to secure a copy you can pre-order it now, via the website only (this simplifies the admin slightly).

If you want to pick up your copy from one of the shops, rather than have it posted out, then please use the voucher code DBPICKUP during the checkout process. That way you won’t be charged postage… :)

Single Patterns & New Yarns Coming Soon

Good News! We are pleased to be expanding our range of patterns into the Bergere de France range very shortly. And even better is that this company do a large variety of single patterns for men, women and children, as well as an affordable selection of pattern magazines :)

We will also be carrying three new lines from Bergere de France and will be able to special order in anything else from their range on a regular basis.

Our first delivery is expected within ten days so watch this space!

We have recently learned that the Amy Butler Sweet Life knitting bags will no longer be available. So… we snapped up all they had left!

We now have just two of the Sanibel style bags left in “Nickel” and one Hampton Bag in “River”. It’s amazing how much you can fit in these high quality bags – I keep discovering new pockets in mine and recently used the Sanibel style to hold my knitting, my laptop and everything I needed for an overnight stay!

Sweet Life Bags

We now have these simply gorgeous knitting bags in the shop and up on the website. At the moment you can choose between two colours of the “Hampton” style bag (which happens to be the one which I have snagged for myself) and we hope to have some more of the “Sanibel” style in soon :)

All the Amy Butler Bags are so well made but we found these two styles to be sturdy, roomy and just a delight to look at. I can carry at least three projects around in mine, plus all the accessories, needles and patterns a girl could hope for!

So if you have a birthday or special occasion coming up, or if you just feel like treating yourself, then why not put one of these bags on your list? :)

Knitpicks Needles Due Any Day

Just a quick post to say that our first batch of Knitpicks Interchangeable Needles should be in stock by this weekend. These really are the best Interchangeable Needles around, with a great flexible cord (with no kinks or “pull” and great for Magic Loop) and sharp needle points in a choice of either Nickel or Harmony Wood.
