Yuzen Meret Beret

It just occurs to me that the title of this blog post would look like an alien language to a non-knitter!

But… to you and me it’s this:

Yuzen Meret

Another Dixie shop sample, (she can really churn ‘em out that girl!) this time the pattern is Meret by Woolly Wormhead which you can download for free and the yarn is Noro Yuzen (two skeins).

Dixie made the sample a little slouchier than the original pattern by adding an extra pattern repeat – I looove it slouchy, but it’s all down to the individual knitter! :)

Have you seen this beautiful blanket yet?

Hemlock Ring Blanket

You may already know Dixie who regularly works in the shop now and teaches all manner of knitting classes at TIK. Well, she has also been flying through any number of nice new sample projects for the shop and as her work is just so gorgeous I had to share it here! :D

The pattern is the Hemlock Ring Blanket and this (quite sizable) version was knit using just 9 balls of Kilcarra Aran Tweed… So that’s a fun-to-make beautiful project , in a 100% wool yarn, that will keep you cosy for many cold nights to come – and all for €31.50! What’s not to love?

The Dublin Knit Collective have come up with a really fun little competition for those among us who love the X-Factor! (Yes, I admit it, I’m addicted…)

Check out the competition details over here and be in with the chance to win great prizes!!

A couple of weeks ago KnitPro announced the Symfonie Rosewood Gift Set would be available as a limited edition for Christmas. I know a lot of people were already very excited about these and we had also really been looking forward to stocking them.

Unfortunately we received an email today (sent to all KnitPro stockists) to say that there have been quality issues with the presentation boxes. Despite trying two different suppliers KnitPro have concluded:

“Since we do not want to compromise at all with the quality of our products, we have decided to postpone the launch of the Symfonie Rose sets until we are able to offer our product which has cleared all quality parameters.”

Sorry to break the bad news folks… :(

However, the launch of the Spectra Acrylic Gift Sets will go ahead as planned. These are still a really cute product – each of the sizes are a different colour – and they are also more affordable than the symfonie wood options.

We expect these to be in stock by the end of November / start of December at the latest.

Seeking an outgoing and enthusiastic knitter in the Athlone region who would like to represent the knitting community on a radio show!
